Engineering Intern - Summer 2020

We have several openings for our engineering internship program for the summer of 2020. These positions will be with our engineering teams in the community of Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa and possibly at one of our other locations. During the summer, the intern will gain exposure to the design, development, deployment and support of electronic based systems. The intern will be assigned to one of our three core engineering groups: Automation and Test Solutions, Custom Embedded Solutions or Model Based Software Design.
Primary Goals of an Engineering Intern:
The intern will begin building a technical foundation in various departments while working on challenging assignments and gaining exposure to different areas within the company. This will help to develop an enterprising perspective and network within various departments, while assessing the intern’s skills, abilities and preferences.
Requirements:
- Working towards/obtained a 4 year degree in Electrical, Computer or Software EngineeringÂ
- Exposure to systems within an electronic/electrical or manufacturing setting
- Ability to read and understand electrical/electronic schematics
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
Other desired skills:
- Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW based programming language
- Embedded systems programming of microcontrollers in C/C++
- Knowledge of model based software design and simulation (MATLAB/Simulink)
