IT Infrastructure Summer Intern

Will assist with desktop hardware refresh activities using established system imaging technology. Will assist the Help Desk Specialist and act as the first point of contact for users reporting technical issues. Responsible for performing other desktop and network duties as assigned by the Infrastructure and Operations Manager.
The primary responsibilities include:
  • Provide first response technical support for end user, connectivity, and services issues.
  • Identify technical issues and escalate to appropriate resources.
  • Perform hardware and software installation using established network imaging technology.
  • Develop/maintain desktop and network support documentation and operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot printer device and print server problems.
  • Maintain inventory of desktop and network hardware and software.
  • Maintain all information in a confidential manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements include:
  • Enrolled in Information Technology or Computer Science degree field.
  • Ability and desire to improve technical knowledge and skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond professionally to end users experiencing technical issues.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work with the Infrastructure team and other IT personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
