Leadership Trainer Internship
FOCUS Training facilitates interactive site-based programs for middle school, high school and college students helping them develop leadership and college and career readiness skills. Interns work on a dynamic team alongside experienced FOCUS trainers to collaborate around program content, prepare for programs, and to deliver high energy learning experiences for students. FOCUS Training is a leadership development company. For over 25 years, we have used experiential learning techniques, dynamic trainers, and deep content to deliver an exceptional leadership development and college readiness experiences to students across the country. Specific Responsibilities
- Domestic travel for program facilitation; travel-associated costs to be paid for by FOCUS Training
- Facilitate interactive leadership programs for groups up to 200 participants ranging from 6th to 12th grade
- Interact with clients and participants in a professional manner
- Set-up, prep and take down materials for programs
- Work indoors and outdoors
- Modify content as needed
The Ideal Candidate
- Junior status or higher from a regionally accredited college or university and in good academic standing
- Demonstrated public speaking, teaching, training, or facilitation experience with students
- Ability and desire to work and travel throughout June 2020 including weekends
- Must attend a train the trainer boot camp in Milwaukee, WI over May 18-22, 2020
- Ability to work well in groups and alone
- Mobility: Run short distances, lift 30 lbs, be on your feet for as long as 10 hours
Compensation
- A stipend of $800 for a four-week internship period (June 2020)
- Domestic travel
- Airfare, meals, and lodging provided while traveling for FOCUS programs + Boot Camp in May
- College credit available
- Following the internship period, trainers may have the opportunity to be contracted and paid on a per-program basis
