Summer Tech Student - Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Internship for Diversity (DID)

Are you an undergraduate student from an underrepresented minority group in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) excited about becoming engaged in tackling hard problems in national security, energy, or science, and apply cutting-edge research to making our nation safer and stronger? Do designing, defining, and operationalizing technologies and approaches in response to complex national security problems sound exciting? Do you want to work side by side with world class scientists and engineers, and to contribute your ideas to the answers to these questions?
If you answered yes to these things, we want your application for the DTRA Internship for Diversity (DID) administered by the PNNL Operation Systems & Technology Division within the National Security Directorate. We are looking for smart, creative and motivated students with a passion for solving complex problems, identifying solution options, and determining how solutions can be made operational for resolving national security challenges. These positions will be for 8-12 weeks during the summer, and are available in Richland WA.

Diverse Focus Areas:
  1. Cyber/Computer Science: Disciplines of interest: computer engineering, the principles and applications of Cyber security, and computer science focusing on secure systems.
  2. Analytics: Disciplines of interest: political science, public policy and international relations, criminal justice, and policy analysis.
  3. Nuclear- Disciplines of interest: radiochemistry, actinide chemistry, nuclear or chemical engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering and material sciences
  4. Concept and Application Evaluation: Disciplines of interest: Physics, mathematics and statistics quantitatively evaluation and assessment.
