What does an IS Intern do?

•        Participates in a variety of challenging assignments, similar to those handled by full-time staff.
•        Assignments may include but are not limited to:
o   Establishing access profiles for each of the IS teams
o   Assisting with team process/procedure reviews & cleanup
o   Reengineering the software/hardware review/inventory process
o   Streamlining compliance control processes
o   Helping with project assessment documentation
o   Performing data and trending analysis of IS Portfolio
o   Business Analysis related to portfolio and project work
o   Assisting development of the Risk Management Framework
o   Cyber Awareness planning support


What department does an IS Intern work in?

The IS Intern will be working on the Information Security team, with primary responsibility for users in the Kansas City District and Branch offices. This team is responsible for security related processes (Operations, Compliance, Monitoring, etc.).


What skills and experience do IS Interns need?

•         Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in an Information Technology related program.
•         Interest in the Information Security field
•         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•         Initiative and leadership skills.
•         Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•         Proficient computer skills in programs including, but not limited to, Windows 10, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
•         Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware.
•         Intermediate knowledge of Windows administration.
