Job Summary:
C# and MS SQL developer that can provide operational technology systems support, services and knowledge for operations at 3M Valley facility. Receives project assignments and general direction from Systems Manufacturing Engineer and Plant Engineering Manager. Works independently and with production team members to identify and implement information technology improvements and other projects that improve safety, quality, yield, productivity and material and work flow resulting in measurable improvements. Leads small to medium projects or participates on larger projects where team approach is utilized. Periodically may assist others in project work and established methodologies.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding of sophisticated back-end processes powering web applications.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
  • Provide operational support activities including completing key projects, activities, and tasks to ensure the success of the day-to-day manufacturing plant operations 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Develops and applies fundamental project management skills to provide project support for larger projects and running of smaller projects at 3M Valley facility.
  • Assumes responsibility for projects that are typically small to medium scale with the risk confined to the project and low to moderate business impact 
  • Applies problem solving and analytical skills to project work for optimum results, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with management, stakeholders, and project team members to refine project scope, and define project plan. Works with stakeholders to define communication plans and executes them within organization to ensure project support.
  • Leverages resources across several disciplines to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.

This position may require:

  • Weekend work
  • Shift will primarily be on days, but may change depending on business needs within the facility. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. 
  • Currently possess, or pursuing, a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field of study.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • 3M factory experience
  • Passion for SMART manufacturing, Data Automation to create value.
  • Strong oral or written communication skills
  • SQL reporting tools skill
  • Use of REST APIs
  • Self-starter, results driven behaviors
  • Prior internship/co-op with 3M or another manufacturing company
