Data Science Summer Intern

Hoboken 10 weeks full time from 8th June 2020 until 14th August 2020 
We’re looking for a diverse group of highly talented recent graduates and final year students to apply for our paid 10-week Summer Internship. 
Successful candidates will work on a project-based assignment within one of our Business area’s s for the duration of the internship. 
Each Intern will be assigned a project to complete during the 10 weeks. Examples of projects include:
  • Reconcile multiple unstructured Big Data sources to compile a competitive product positioning analysis by course and discipline.
  • Assist in the building of automated reporting tools to improve the quality, availability, and efficiency of obtaining key operational and financial data for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in building complex financial models to evaluate scenarios and support strategic decisions.
  • Help improve the accuracy of operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the development of data dashboards using a combination of operational, financial or delivery metrics. 
  • Visualization storyboards, identifying the source data, building the dashboards and documenting data flows.
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate would be a curious problem-solver, eager to learn, and ready to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Data analysis
  • Data mining
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with a scripting language, preferably python or R     
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Some knowledge of statistics, econometrics, or machine learning and experience applying that knowledge to data
  • Some knowledge of Tableau   
  • Ability to think critically and work autonomously
Our ten-week summer internship runs from 8th June 2020 until 14th August 2020 
Criteria: 
  • Graduating between May 2020 and January 2021 
  • Currently be pursuing a BBA/BS/BA or/MS/MA in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, engineering, economics, Data Science, Finance, Accounting or a related field) from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Be authorized to live and work full time in the US unrestricted after graduation. 
  • Must be able to work 40 hours week throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship in Hoboken
