Airport Operations Data and Analysis Internship - Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport is the 20th-busiest airport in the world and the 5th-busiest airport in the United States, serving 64.5 million passengers last year and generating more than $26 billion for the region annually.  DEN is the largest and newest commercial airport in the United States and consists of 15 million square feet of built environment.

The Airport Operations Data and Analysis Intern will work on special projects along with being involved in the day-to-day operations of the airfield. They may also be asked to assist during incidents either from the airfield or the EOC. Throughout the summer with Airside Operations, you will experience unique situations that occur at one of the world's largest and busiest airports that cannot be taught in the classroom.

This is an on-call position with an expected start date of June 1st, 2020 and an end date of August 7th, 2020.  This position is expected to work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to experience:
  • Planning, completion, and presentation of data analysis regarding operational processes and procedures including Screening Checkpoints, Badging Operations, Emergency Management, Airfield Operations, and others
  • Foster an atmosphere of innovation by challenging the organization to think creatively, especially as it relates to data-driven decision making and positive passenger experiences
  • Assist in effectively evaluating the business of Airport Operations by identifying opportunities for process improvement through data, creating easily-accessible Business Intelligence reports, and resolving complex technical issues
  • Serve as a Business Intelligence and analytical consultant within the organization relevant to concerns generated by airlines, concessions, federal and law enforcement partners, and other stakeholders
  • Manage performance metrics for the Airport Operations Division to include performance dashboards and recommendations to leadership on areas for improvement based on factual data
  • Manage numerous data sets to ensure they are updated regularly with a high degree of data integrity
  • Take ownership of divisional KPI/Metric displays across multiple departments

  • Current sophomore status or higher education level within your program

  • Education Requirement: Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion).

  • Education and Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted
  • License/Certification Requirement: By position, may require a valid Driver's License at the time of application
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
